Josh Hutcherson was a dating failure at school.

Despite becoming one of the biggest heartthrobs in the world after starring in ‘The Hunger Games’, Josh admits he wasn’t a huge hit with the girls when he was at high school because he is naturally shy.

He revealed: ‘It’s hard to believe, but I’m very shy when it comes to talking to girls. I don’t know why I get so nervous because it’s so easy, it’s just talking and I talk all the time. But it’s terrifying.’

Josh is single at the moment and although he isn’t actively searching for a girlfriend he knows what sort of woman he wants to date.

The 19-year-old actor said: ‘It’s important for a girl to be herself. I don’t want someone who is trying to make me think she’s a certain way when she’s something different. Someone who is comfortable in their own shoes and who is down for having a fun time. I used to have a very specific type – dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin. Now I’m more into the beauty of a person.’
